The center of Matsuyama City is about 30 minutes away from the campus. Regular train service is
available. There are not only many shopping, entertainment and restaurant areas but also famous
sites, such as Dogo Onsen hot spring and Matsuyama Castle, to visit.
Matsuyama City has a convenient airport, with international connections,
that is 15 minutes from the center of the city. Domestic flight connections
can be made via Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya,
and other cities. Or you can take
the Bullet Train (Shinkansen) to Okayama and
transfer to a train bound for Matsuyama.
Matsuyama is also accessible from
Hiroshima by ferry.
St. Catherine Educational Institution was founded by the
Congregation of Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic.
The junior college was established in 1966 and the university
opened its doors in 1988. Our name is in honor of St. Catherine
of Siena, one of the three women Doctors of the Church, who
dedicated her life to charity and service to others.
Students in the four-year university programs study courses in
social work, psychiatric social work, management, sociology,
social awareness, care giving skills, sports management, and,
at the two-year junior college, in early childhood education.

Charity for Your Neighbours
St. Catherine University and St. Catherine Junior College serve their neighbours
through various volunteer activities and campus and community events.
Students participate in internships, practical training, sports and other clubs
activities. Festivals and other events are held regularly. St. Catherine is a
friendly campus waiting to welcome you.
Also located on the St. Catherine campus
